Our Approach

Your pre/postnatal expert has years of experience training hundreds of women through every stage of motherhood. Our trainers have expertise in pelvic floor health, diastasis and functional strength for motherhood. Each pregnancy is unique and so is each birth story. Our tailored sessions meet you where you are. We cover the basics of safely working out while pregnant, prepare you for labor/delivery and aid in your postpartum recovery to get you feeling strong and ready for the athletic event that is motherhood.

Lane Slattery

Lane is a mom, New York City–based personal trainer, and pre/postnatal exercise specialist who has trained hundreds of women through pregnancy and postpartum.

Through her work with The Lotus Method and as an independent trainer, she delivers highly personalized programs that help clients build strength, confidence, and resilience during one of the most transformative stages of life.

Before transitioning into fitness, Lane had a successful career as a professional dancer, performing in the Off-Broadway production Queen of the Night and the national tour of Dirty Dancing, which informs her deep expertise in movement and body mechanics.

We currently offer in-home training across Manhattan and Brooklyn. If you're outside these areas, we'd still love to chat — we also offer virtual sessions worldwide.

With your doctor's clearance, you can begin at any stage of pregnancy. Many clients start in their first trimester, while others come to us in their second or third. We tailor every program to where you are.

This varies for every mother. Generally, we recommend waiting 6–8 weeks for vaginal births and 10–12 weeks for cesarean births, with your physician's approval. We begin gently and progress at your body's pace.

Just a small amount of open floor space. Your trainer will let you know if any specific items are helpful for your program, but most sessions require minimal equipment.

Sessions are typically 50–60 minutes. We also offer 30-minute express sessions for days when time is tight, especially helpful for new mothers.

No contracts or long-term commitments required. We offer flexible packages and a pay-as-you-go option. We believe the results speak for themselves.
